Larger Device Previews?

#1

Hey guys,

Is it possible to add more device previews that are larger than the landscape iPad? I’m designing for something that can be as big as a laptop (at various resolutions: 1920x1200, 1680x1050, 1280x800) but I still would still prefer a responsive screen. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi,

React Studio is designed “mobile first” so unfortunately the larger device sizes are not on our short term plans (unless we get a sponsor for the development efforts). Adding new device preview is pretty trivial but then we’d need to upgrade all elements which have target screen size settings to support new screen sizes…

If you develop anything that works in landscape tablet size then it should work also in desktop. Actually tablet size is already quite big and if you align elements correctly they will work on any screen size.

Thanks Antti!

I’ve been thinking about it, and I think you are right on with your decision to remain mobile first.

Hi, any change in this? It will be very helpful to get one large breakpoint of 1920px width.

ReactStudio seems phenomenal for basically anything. I want to use it for large breakpoint apps ie desktop size mainly. Currently the App settings lock down the size, so content is cut off. For eg, I started with a 1920w web app, exported once and its now cut to a lower width. So I can preview when exported, but I cant edit components since they are off the screen. It was working fine before the export once. Now cant go back to 1920w.

This is my screen size setting of the first view of app. It was set to 1920x1080, now its set to responsive and I cant go back to Fixed. Not sure if this is a bug or some setting of the app that is over riding this. I just redid everything from scratch now. And I am afraid this same thing will happen again.

Currently it’s set when creating a new screen (fixed or responsive) in Project Map and it can’t be changed later.
